E-learning Supplier of the Year seeks ‘Sales Stars’

We’re delighted to have successfully completed the design of a new assessment process for candidates who apply to work in the sales function of an ambitious e-learning business. Virtual College, the 2016 e-learning supplier of the year is aiming to double turnover to £7.5million within three years and to deliver this level of growth the Ilkley-based company needs to recruit high-performing salespeople for their telesales and field-sales teams.

Sales Director, Judith Clarkson said, “We want to ensure that we hire great salespeople who share our passion for e-learning. We were impressed by Bloojam Consulting’s rigorous approach to identifying the key behaviours that will really enable us to identify the best salespeople for our business.”

The new assessment process sees candidates complete online personality questionnaires before undertaking in-depth interviews and sales exercises that are bespoke for each role. Bloojam Consulting Director, Jim Bloomfield said, “We wanted to design something that would really immerse candidates in the job and help them to appreciate what working in a sales role at Virtual College would feel like. For Virtual College they are able to see how each candidate will tackle a client meeting in a realistic situation that truly reflects their business.”

HR Manager Fiona Robinson added, “The feedback from Sales Managers, who Bloojam have trained in the new process, has been very positive and we are confident that the approach they have designed will enable us to identify the sales stars that we need.”
